Projects

We are conducting some ornithological projects using the scientific bird banding as the main tool in various areas of Venezuela.

- Monitoring migratory and resident birds at Los Roques archipelago.

Gran Roque
Coordinator: J.C. Fernández Ordóñez (Fundación Científica ARA MACAO).
Dates: since October 2013.
Site: Los Roques archipelago (Territorio Insular Miranda, Venezuela).

Collaborators: Fundación Científica Los Roques and Rock Point Bird Banding Station (Canada).

Our primary focus is a standardized fall migration monitoring program. Very limited tests in October 2011 showed some promises. We expect during this year involve daily banding throughout the peak of migration (April-May and September-October).
